** Aurora Watch In Effect **

The solar wind speed is close to the 700 km/sec mark tonight as the
Earth slided into a high speed solar wind stream coming from a coronal
hole. Geomagnetic cconditions are expected to range from active to
minor storm level for at least the next three days, and an aurora
watch is now in effect. Skywatchers in the higher latitudes should
keep an eye out. Meanwhile, the background X-ray flux has been
rising, and the space weather gurus are saying to look out for an
active sunspot region to be emerging over the northeastern limb of the
      solar disk soon.

The current solar and geomagnetic conditions are :

      NOAA sunspot number : 122
      SFI : 119
      A index : 18
      K index : 4

      Solar wind speed : 698.9 km/sec
      Solar wind density : 3.1 protons/cc
Solar wind pressure : 1.6 nPa

      IMF : 4.6 nT
IMF Orientation : 3.4 nT South

Conditions for the last 24 hours :
No space weather storms were observed for the past 24 hours.

Forecast for the next 24 hours :
No space weather storms are expected for the next 24 hours.

      Solar activity forecast :
Solar activity is expected to be low. Watch the northeast limb for an
active center to arrive very soon.

      Geomagnetic activity forecast :
The geomagnetic field is expected to be at generally active levels for
the next three days, punctuated by episodes of minor storm conditions.
Effects of the high speed solar wind should persist through the interval.

Recent significant solar flare activity :
      None
