- There is a space between the time when something is one thing and the
time when it grows better, that is, different in a more sophisticated
way. An animal that catches up to its environment in its protective
evolution is an example. A piece of art goes from crude to
expressive and an artist grows from inept in an ability to proficient.
It is this transition that is neither state nor activity, but the
thing of transition itself that becomes habitual through effort. The
effort is a product of love and not intellectualism.
