Master Your Own Body and Mind
"Even before you directly try to control the mind
and the thoughts, try to control them through the
senses: sense control, taste control, sight control.
Little by little, let the senses be under your
control. That is why the Yoga system expects a
person to be master of his or her body and mind.
And that mastery is achieved only when the body
and mind are purified. That is why we do the Yoga
practices; though they help us in bringing health
to the system, the ultimate aim is something
different. While the practices purify and bring
health to the body and can cure many diseases,
they serve mainly to help you master your own mind.
