Mulla Nasrudin was such a kindhearted person
that he used to provide monetary help to
those needy in his village. For years together,
he helped a lot many people by providing them
loans on time, so that they may not suffer.
It is said that time always changes the situations
in one's life. Now Mulla had become very old.
With the passage of time, his riches were washed
away and his position was just like a person
      surviving at any cost.
It so happened that Mulla's son fell ill.
He badly needed to be operated upon. Mulla's
existence was just hand to mouth. He could
barely maintain his family's day to day requirements.
So, he was not in a position to bear the expenses
      of the operation.
The only way left out was to seek help from
those he had helped over the years. So he
approached all of them, one by one. It was
disheartening for Mulla to know that all of
them replied in negative, though their reasons
      were different.
But Mulla was not to be disappointed. He wanted
to save his son at any cost. With a bowl in
his hand, he stood outside a mosque and appealed
to all of them to help him, telling them his
story in detail. A majority of the people did
not have a second glance at the pleading Mulla.
Only a few had barren words of sympathy for
Mulla. With full of service and empty hands,
Mulla diverted his efforts outside a temple.
But there also was little difference in the
lip service only. Undoubtedly the hands were
      empty there also.
By that time, it was evening and soon the
darkness was engulfing the village, along with
      Mulla's heart. Brokenhearted, Mulla was
returning home, when he suddenly saw people
coming out of a pub. Ever optimistic, Mulla
thought let me try here also.
In pleading tone, Mulla once again narrated
his story and at the same time extended his
hand with cap in it for offerings.
To his utmost surprise, everyone of them
contributed and soon, Mulla's cap was brimming
      with notes of all denominations.
Now with the help of this money, he would get
his son operated upon. Hence his heart was full
of happiness, but there were tears of gratitude
in his eyes and words full of sentiments :
"Oh God, you are so strange, as you show us
the address of your residence of one place and
      live at some other place."
      MORAL:
People wrongly waste their time in searching God
at Mosques and Temples, while he is already
      residing in everyone's heart.
