"To break a bad habit, analyze it and find out
what the disadvantages are of having that habit.
If you are convinced that there is a disadvantage,
that will weaken the habit. At the same time, think
of an opposite good habit that can replace the
bad habit. For example, whenever you think of
overeating, embark on a fast. Think of the ill
effects of overeating and the benefits of fasting.
To achieve this, avoid the situations that
increase the chances that you will overeat.
Habits are not only in the mind; every cell
becomes conscious of the habit. So, until even the
cells forget that habit, you avoid reminding them.
Also, get into the company of those who don't
overeat or who don't smoke. In that way you
can break any habit.
