      Something to remember is that, even if you can have an absolute perfect
      bond between the surface of your two pieces of wood, the wood is still
      green and going to change size and shape as it dries. The dust bin of
      history is full of pieces that tore themselves apart as a result of
      proper curing or seasonal moisture variation.

      Oh, and paint the ends of those things so they don't check!
