Group Description

If you prefer, you may request to join our Facebook Support Group at http://bit.ly/mddsfriendsonfacebook

MdDS is typically diagnosed when a person reports a persistent rocking feeling (though they are not necessarily rocking). This USUALLY follows a cruise or other motion experience. Because most vestibular testing proves to be negative, doctors may be baffled as they attempt to diagnose this neurological syndrome. Some doctors believe MdDS occurs when your brain does not return to a normal sense of balance after adapting to a motion experience. A diagnostic indicator is that MOST of us feel BETTER while driving or riding in a car or while in passive motion.

Members of this group may search and review thousands of messages from those who suffer from MdDS. Our members are welcomed from many countries, and you will find caring people who understand what it's like to live with this rare disorder. To be accepted as a member, you must indicate why you believe you have MdDS.

Substantial information about Mal de Debarquement Syndrome can be found on our website at www.mddsfoundation.org including a library of biomedical articles and current research recruiting articles.

The MdDS Balance Disorder Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation operated by volunteers who have the disorder. Donations will support our efforts to promote international awareness of MdDS. We seek and support research toward treatments and a cure for people suffering from this disorder.

The Foundation does not diagnose or offer medical advice. Please consult with your doctor to develop a plan of action. DISCLAIMER: We are a patient-to-patient discussion group: this group is NOT to be a substitute for a doctor relationship, or taken as personal medical advice. What you do with the information offered is at YOUR OWN RISK and you agree to this when joining this group.
