Inspirational Message from H.G. Bishop Agathon

Bishop Agathon speaks about his struggle in Brazil, and the missionary work within Brazil. This is a very emotional story to hear from a monk who was sent to Brazil and endured suffering for many years, and endured it for 14 years. He became fluent in Portuguese and eventually became the bishop of Brazil after his long struggle with the people.

He was decline many times by the people to use their churches, yet he persisted and eventually H.H. Pope Shenouda granted the church of Brazil a church.

As Fr. Antony Messeh says, "Why would someone go to a place where no one cares about him?"

      --

The practical person deals with people as they are not as they ought to be. He does not expect fanciful idealism in those with whom he deals, but he realizes they are human, like everybody else, with all the weaknesses and defects of the human nature. -Pope Shenouda III
