I'm sure it's difficult for any new artist that would follow a well-known act with everyone standing and cheering, then when they come on to perform the audience is not that enthusiastic being not many know your music and all. Most times all it takes is one big hit then you're on your way! I can see why you miss him Randy.

Speaking of bluegrass, have you been to The Caverns in Tennessee yet? Greg and I were there last year to see Del McCoury; what a great place to see a show.

Your neighbor Gregg here Deb. I’m at the biggest east coast Bluegrass festival for four days (Grey fox).

 Wasn’t aware Mark was bringing his new show with the videos and all along with him for all his shows. I just thought it was for his South America tour. I’ve YouTubed every one of those shows and just love his new introductions.. Nothing was booked for him that I couldn’t make here on this side of the world.Haven’t seen Mark since last year...I sure do miss him. Hope to see you and Greg at a show soon. Take care.

Randy, all I can say is if you have any venues down that way call or email them and let them know that Mark is touring and that people want to see him. I'll tell you, even the acoustic show (which Greg and I had a chance to see last fall) is great; it's like someone sitting in your living room without the amps.

Been a while since we have had any activity here, so thought I would just stop by.

July 6 and 7 was a great rock weekend for us. We got to see the Rolling Stones on July 7 (first time for me; second time for Greg) in Foxboro; this show was supposed to happen back in June, but as everyone knows, it got postponed due to Mick's heart surgery. It was a lot of fun, and it was a great show. They still sound good, and are worth seeing, if you get the chance. When Mick had the surgery recently, they must have gone in and tweaked a couple of things, because he was all over that stage. Hard to believe he still was doing so great; at 75.  

I had gotten an email from Foxwoods 2 weeks prior to July 6, that Mark was doing a private show for points members at Foxwoods, so I immediately jumped on it. The tickets were free; all we had to do is call and reserve them (limit of 2), so we said why not. Well, I must tell you; what an awesome show. Mark has a great new show that is probably reminiscent of the old GFR shows, complete with the 2001 theme. There is a video that explores his career, and some great footage of him as well.  The sound of the band had changed a bit; it was definitely louder. But they still sound great, and they still do a great job. In talking to Mark later, he thought that he would change it up a bit. To make things short, it was great to see Mark, Hubert, Lawrence, and the new guy on keyboards (I apologize for not getting his name), and they were awesome.  It was also great to see (and hear) Hubert singing the lead on We're An American Band; had never heard him sing before, and he sounded great. And Lesia is doing a great job with the merchandising; they have a lot of new great stuff, so check it out on the website if you can't make it to one of the shows.
