There were times when I honestly thought this month would never get here! But it did and my book, A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthurs Court has now officially hit store shelves. Its a thrilling experience to go into the bookstores and see your handiwork on display under New Releases. Thrilling, and a bit scary!
So far, the critics have been kind. I got a great review from Publishers Weekly, calling CT Fashionista a sparkling debut. But what I really want to know is what readers thinkwhich is way more important! So when youre finished reading, Id love if you could email me your thoughts. Writing can feel like a vacuum sometimes, so Im eager to hear what worked and what didnt.
Oh and since everyones been asking there IS going to be a sequel. Actually its a three-part series all together. The next installment, A Hoboken Hipster in Sherwood Forest is scheduled to be out in late 2006 or perhaps early 2007.
Congrats to Andrea Sanders for winning the April prize of Fashionista chocolates. Your prize will be on its way shortly. Because I got great response, Ive decided to give away another box of these fashionable chocolate purses this month. Winning name to be drawn June 10th. Since youre already members of my newsletter, youre automatically entered. Check out the prize at: http://www.mariannemancusi.com/FunStuff.html
The Romantic Times Convention was truly a blast and I met so many wonderful people. I cant wait for next year. Thank you to everyone who came by during the booksigning and bought a bookthen waited in that mammoth check-out line! I posted some photos on my blog if you want to take a look.
For those of you in the Boston area, on May 10th I'm holding a book release party at Croma on 269 Newbury Street in Boston . First 50 people to buy a book get a free drink. It'll be held right after work from 6:30 - 8:30. If you're local, please come by! Check out Cromas website for more details and be sure to note the specialty one-night-only martinis theyve created in honor of the event!
For a more traditional signing, on May 24th at 12:30pm, I'll be doing a reading and then signing books at the Borders Bookstore in Downtown Boston.
In July Ill be at the RWA Nationals conference in Reno and will be signing books and giving a workshop on Being a Trendsetting Writer with author Alesia Holliday, editor Kate Seaver of Dorchester and agent Paige Wheeler. More details on that to come.
If anyone would like a signed copy of CT Fashionista but cant make it to see me in person, Id be happy to do a virtual signing. Just email me and we can make arrangements.
Guess thats about it for now! Welcome all the new newsletter subscribers. Hope you enjoy the book! Remember let me know what you think! And if youre ever up interested in more up-to-the-minute happenings, please head to my blog. I update that almost every day.
