While Bipasha was busy being pricey, Manisha, fresh out of New York's
acting school, grabbed the opportunity with both hands of working
with maverick director Kamalahasan. Kamal is now out to make a
thriller called 'Mumbai Express' and he is playing a cop. He had his
eye trained on Bips, Tabu, and Kajol. Bips shocked Kamal and producer
Bharat Shah by quoting an astronomical amount. "Kajol's dates didn't
suit her duties as a mother," confirmed Kamal. But Manisha was a
darling and immediately flew down to Chennai. "Of course, I
said 'yes' to him blindly and immediately. Kamalji is like, my God!
We start shooting mid-December. I can hardly wait." Manisha has
ensured a blockbuster, which she badly needs. But Bips could have
done with one, too.
