      Hi Ilias and all,

I Just Wonder how you could set Windows 7 magnifier to track cursor in MS
Word. I have already tested it a couple of times but I was never able to
make it track keyboard action, like typing a text.

      Thank you,

      Leo

      Hi.
I stopped using ZoomText when i began using Windows 7.
      Reason: The built-in magnifier.

To start the magnifier, press Start and type in Magnifier.

If you are using one of the glass-themes, you will also be able to use the
      full screen magnifier.
This has been an issue for many users, so please make sure you are using a
      glass-theme.

In the settings, you can enable the magnifier to follow the mouse pointer,
as well as the carret in MS Word.

      Shortcut keys:

Enable / zoom in: Win+Num Plus
      Zoom out: Win+Num Minus.
Disable (but not turn of): Win+Esc.

When the magnifier is active, you will see a transparent magnification
glass. Point on that and a tool-bar will appear. Minimize that in order to
      hide the magnifying glass.

If you consider your self as a non-poweruser, you will have no need of
      ZoomText any more.

Feel Free to ask If I might be of any more assistance.

      /Ilias

        Hello Ilias,

Well, I think I have made a little progress getting the Windows 7
magnifier set up. I verified that I do have Windows 7 Home Premium
edition and was able to select one of the aero themes. When I open the
magnifier though, it is totally unusable. I can't tell what anything is
or what is going on. I have not been able to find the transparent
magnifying glass you mentioned so I can change the settings. Nor have I
seen any full screen option. In fact I have not found any options
anywhere. Initially the magnifier opened in a small section at the top of
my screen. I was able to click on the bottom of it and drag it down thus
increasing the size of the magnification box. But all I could see in the
box was swirls and colors. Perhaps this is because of the theme I chose
but none of them seem to offer distinct colors.

So I guess my next question is how do I find settings? Where is that
magnifying glass you mentioned that I can click on? Thanks again for your
        help with this!

        Hello again, Sherry.

The simplest way is to see if the "full screen" option is grayed out in
        the
Windows 7 magnifier. If so, then you are probably not using a glass theme.
Or an Aero-theme, witch is the correct name.

The Aero desktop experience is available in the Home Premium,
        Professional,
Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows 7. So first make sure you
        have
one of those before you continue.

To turn Aero on, right click on the windows desktop and chose Personalize.
There, change from Windows classic to one of the aero themes. I am not
        100%
sure, but I think that is how to change it.

        Good luck!

        /Ilias
