PR Grants will enable Rotary clubs to place Rotary billboards, banners, newspaper supplements or Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in their local media.
For the 2005-06 Rotary year, grant applications for funding ranging from US$1,000 to US$5,000 will be considered to support PR projects during the current Rotary year. Assistance will be available until the funds are depleted.

      Five Easy Steps

      *Radio
      *Television

New Class of Rotary Peace Scholars

Rotary International has named a new class of World Peace Fellows to study peacemaking and conflict resolution at the seven Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution worldwide. Now more than ever, these scholars represent Rotarys hope to promote world understanding and peace. Rotary Peace Scholars are very newsworthy, especially if they are from your community or visiting your area. Keep them in mind for press releases to your local paper. For a sample press release e-mail prtips@....

Last month for Rotary PSAs to air on satellite feed

Through the cooperation of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), Rotarys public service announcements (PSAs) are being made available to television stations via satellite.

While NAB distributes community service PSAs via a monthly satellite feed to its members, local radio and television stations must download a particular PSA by requesting it via its coordinates. Rotarys PSAs can be found at the following satellite coordinates:

C-Band, Galaxy 3, Transponder 7, Downlink Frequency 3840 MHz, Horizontal Polarity, Audio 6.2 and 6.8

Encourage your local stations to download the Rotary PSAs. Contact stations in your area, and provide the coordinates, a short explanation of Rotary and why the station should broadcast the Rotary PSAs.

The next NAB satellite feed will air at 11:30 a.m. ET/GMT-3 on 21 October. If the station does not have the technology to download via satellite feed, you may contact the Public Relations Division at Rotary International at pr@... for a broadcast-quality tape to be sent directly to the station.
