Dear Fellow  Coleagues members of RAGDV ,
I am writing to invite and encourage your participation in the 2014 ROTARY FAMILY HEALTH DAYS.  Our goal for this forthcoming year is to serve together with the other RAGs and volunteers in general ,an estimated 400,000 citizens in three days, and we need your help.  (The 2013 event served 275,089 people).  We need DENTIST , particularly, but all volunteers are welcome.  This three day event will be held as follows:
      APRIL 2, 3, 4:                        SOUTH AFRICA at 181 sites
      APRIL 10, 11, 12:                  UGANDA at 120 sites
      APRIL 10, 11, 12:                  GHANA at  30 sites
      APRIL 24, 25, 26:                  NIGERIA at 160 sites
Your participation would be huge added value in joining more than 6, 500 African Rotarians in providing service to the disadvantaged citizens of these countries.  But ALSO, this is a perfect program model where all the RAGs can work together out in the field, showing unity of purpose in making a difference in disease prevention as well as improving the health of the family, especially the children – PLEASE JOIN RFHA in serving the poor of Africa.
As a reminder, this health event provides multiple FREE health care services such as
      ·         HIV Testing/Counseling, condom distribution
      ·         Safe Male Circumcision (varies per country)
      ·         TB screens
      ·         Polio drops, Measles vaccine
      ·         Diabetes and Hypertension screens and education
      ·         Malaria screens (and provision of bed nets)
      ·         Cervical cancer screens and mammograms (select sites)
      ·         Provision of Vitamin A and deworming tablets
      ·         Dental clinics (some sites)
      ·         Eye testing (some sites, and it would be great if we could add cataract surgery)
Rotary International has already approved Global Grants for this program.  In addition, the RI Broadcast Media and P.R. team are creating/filming and producing a 24 minute documentary that will be broadcast across the continent of Africa in March.  This will be perfect timing to publicize the April 2014 event.

If you or same of your coleagues can participate at the 2014 ROTARY FAMILY HEALTH DAYS , let me know to comunicate the teams to the other RAGs .

Dear Rotary Friends , please ENGAGE ROTARY and CHANGE LIFE in Africa .

      Yours in Rotary ,
      Ovidiu Cos
      Chair of RAGDV 2013-2014
