      Hi Bob,

I've always found mounting switches the biggest chore after building a
machine. I've been meaning to make an adjustable one for my Z axis for a
long time now... to allow for different tool lengths.

Touch wood, I've never had a machine go AWOL in a downwards movement yet.

      Regards Dave

      Dave,

Thanks, I will look at the links. I assembled a CNC router kit from PBC
Linear for a friend. We have all of it working. Now, we are in the process
of adding the limit switches. I may try to use inductive proximity sensors
if I can find a place to mount them. My breakout board supports inductive
proximity sensors. I like them as they are non-contact.

      Hello Bob,

      I'm looking too.

Ebay has a lot of these..

But I can't help but think they are copies of a more expensive one...

Or are you debating between mechanical, magnetic, optical etc? Since I got
my optically isolated BOB, my common little black, run of the mill ones are
      behaving themselves.

                Bob,
Somewhere in my shop, I have a handful of brand new optical switches. I'll try to find them today, and send you the specs. If they look like they will work for you, I'll ship them to you. Just a small repayment for all the help you've been to me over the years.
