Hello, my name is Edmund I have been a member since Master 5 era,

First I would like to thank all the members who a few months back assisted me with information re: Slightly Off Topic starts from Message 140024, so here is an update to that particular Saga and the situation now,

I emailed a letter to him on June 3rd,I eventually received an email from him dated June 11th, he apologized for the delay,(his reply)

      Ed,

I am sorry for the delays, your pendant it finished and I am going to try to get out of work early enough today to get it in the mail to you, otherwise I will mail it tomorrow morning.

Again, I'm sorry for the delays and frustrations.

      -Jerome

      Sounds very nice doesn't it,

Since his email to me on June 11th I have sent him 3 more emails, and have yet to receive a reply and it is now 27 days and I still have no pendent,

I realize that it could have been lost in the post,or sitting in a corner, but this whole saga goes back to November 2012, and to ignore my emails is very rude,

Is there any member here who knows or is personally acquainted with this man or has a phone number or private address, I know he lives in Utah his wife's name is Kassie they have a boy and girl, he is on Facebook, and his old address is 585 E 200 N Payson UT, 84651-1903, his last phone # 801-373-5412 (now disconnected) he seems to move around a lot,

Any help in locating this man would be greatly appreciated, if you go to message #140024 you will find the name of this person,

A really pissed off customer of his,

If you sent him money via the us post office or Canadian post, turn him in for mail fraud and contact the Utah attorney General s office and file a complaint.

Technically, there is no fraud, because Edmund mistakenly made a pledge on Kickstarter that received no reward. I doubt Jerome is trying to "steal" the $40, but there's really no excuse for the broken promises. Sorry, but I don't know how to contact him. You might try posting in the Jog-It thread at CNC Zone, which should send a notification to him.

Dave, after all the crap that has taken place with this order, he promises to mail it out (on two occasions), but does not make any attempt to confirm it by email that he has done so, it seems he washes his hands of it, maybe he did mail it out and its lost, but he doesn't even confirm to let me know whats going on, he doesn't even answer my requests to communicate,

                  Hello Gerry,

I haven't mentioned fraud or scam, and yes I did make a mistake and place the $70.00, (not $40),in the wrong column in Kickstarter, but that was back in early may 2013 and that was sorted, since then I have been promised on two occasions by Jerome that he is going to send (mail) the pendent, under these circumstances if it were myself selling this item and I was in his situation, I think I would have payed special attention with this transaction and kept the customer informed all the way to final delivery, its called good customer relations, my gripe about this situation is the lack of communication, especially after initially purchasing a product now 8 months previous,

                  .......Edmund..........

I doubt Jerome is trying to "steal" the $40, but there's really no excuse for the broken promises. Sorry, but I don't know how to contact him. You might try posting in the Jog-It thread at CNC Zone, which should send a notification to him.

wasted/experienced far exceed the cost that you have invested. Try to find
another supplier and don't allow yourself to spend further time/energy or
funds on something that would really seem to not be worth
                    it. D

                              Hi People,

CNC Zone sent out an email a couple of days back to say they had had problems with the software used by the company who had handled their advertising account. The advertising company software was not as hacker proof as hoped. In the last week or so they have changed advertising companies and changed software packages and believe that the problem is behind them.
Now they just have to convince Google that this is the case.

                              Regards to all,
                              Russell Dunn

                                        Hello Edmund

Usually after 3 unanswered email over several weeks on an order I have placed on a website I give up and start the process of a refund. I think you said in an earlier post you had paid thru paypal. Life is to short to invest so much time and energy into dead beat vendors. If I were you I would request a refund thru paypal.

I doubt Jerome is trying to "steal" the $40, but there's really no excuse for the broken promises. Sorry, but I don't know how to contact him. You might try posting in the Jog-It thread at CNC Zone, which should send a notification to him.

Is it just me or can others see how the Kickstart program can be used as a scam tool if so inclined ?

Ballendo would have had a field day if it had been running when he was up to his little tricks.

I think some projects have gone south but Kickstarter apparently pays

                                                scam.

I don't know if they leaned on Jerome or not.

If you used PayPal for the payment send your request for refund to PayPal. Give them the dates and sequence of messages. They will do the collecting for you.

I sold a plan once, and the buyer got impatient for the mail and
requested paypal for a refund. The money was out of my account the same
day. Then of course, a few days later the plan arrived in the mail. The
guy did go back to paypal and re-order.

                                                        Edmund,
I would like to take a second and apologize in this forum to you for how long it took to get that pendant out.

When I launched the Jog it! Campaign on Kickstarter I had a small window in my life to pull off the campaign and try to turn the product into a sustainable business. Long story short, Hobby CNC products are *Extremely* difficult to make because the market is so small. My hat is off to those who have the capital it takes to launch a hardware project, and the time needed to sift through and reply to the hundreds of emails a successful product can generate over dozens of forums and message boards.

A lot has happened since the Kickstarter campaign ended, Crazy busy work schedule full of travel around the world, selling and purchasing a new home and being wrangled into doing the mechanical design work on several products with super tight deadlines and production schedules.
I think "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" is the theme song for this problem we just went through. I realize I bite off more than I can chew on an almost daily Basis. I love being busy, but I realize I need to slow down a little bit sometimes and handle stuff that comes up more quickly.

I wish I could have made your pendant a higher priority in my life than it was, it was a bit of a hassle to find out this sale even existed (because of the simple error of your pledge being made in the "No Reward" section of Kickstarter it never showed up in my sales lists, and when I was made aware of it the batch of ~400 pendants I produced had all been long sold) This is not your fault in any way, Kickstarter can be confusing and I should have checked the "No Reward" tier closer.

It should not have taken me so long to get this out to you, I'm not the type of fellow that wants to steal $70 from someone, I promise. I would have rather given you a refund when I first offered, but I understood when you wanted the product more than the $75 back. It would have been cheaper than the $250 I spent on another batch of 300 PCB's to produce your single pendant ;)

I'm glad to report I have heard of no problems on the ~400 pendants (almost $30k worth!) floating around out there. Hopefully yours will make running your CNC more enjoyable Edmund.

I know I'm not a perfect record keeper, and old Emails get buried fast. If anyone else had a pendant not show up, or if I missed sending you an extra rubber Keypad or something please email me at: dtrobotics@... I will be watching it close over the next few weeks and will work to sort out any issues.

                                                        -Jerome

Long story short, Hobby CNC products are *Extremely* difficult to make because the market is so small. My hat is off to those who have the capital it takes to launch a hardware project, and the time needed to sift through and reply to the hundreds of emails a successful product can generate over dozens of forums and message boards.

I realize I bite off more than I can chew on an almost daily Basis. I love being busy, but I realize I need to slow down a little bit sometimes and handle stuff that comes up more quickly.

I would have rather given you a refund when I first offered, but I understood when you wanted the product more than the $75 back. It would have been cheaper than the $250 I spent on another batch of 300 PCB's to produce your single pendant ;)

Seems a good answer as well as an understandable explaination of the situation from this vendor. I can tell you from experience that starting an internet based business has a steep learning curve and I can fully appreciate where Jerome is coming from. From the perspective of a user service can appear to be quite bad when from the perspective of a surprised and overwhelmed business owner its a matter that fell through the cracks for various reasons.

Thanks for taking the time to answer here Jerome. Its like you say, no-one wants these bad situations, but its the world we live in that sometimes
they occur. Hopefully, all parties are now content.

                                                            Thanks,

                                                            Edmund,
I would like to take a second and apologize in this forum to you for how long it took to get that pendant out.

                                                            -Jerome

                                                              Hello Jerome,

your post below is an excellent explanation, and I truly hope that my reactions on this group have not in any way done damage to your reputation, I was frustrated and a trifle tense, at the back of my mind there was always the thought why is this so, I guessed you were busy and I told myself, perhaps he is travelling, then I thought he must have a computer while he travels, I just didn't understand the long delays in replying, an explanation of your situation would have sufficed, I was quite willing to wait,

I am glad you posted on Mach, and I hope that your future endeavors will be fruitful,

Long story short, Hobby CNC products are *Extremely* difficult to make because the market is so small. My hat is off to those who have the capital it takes to launch a hardware project, and the time needed to sift through and reply to the hundreds of emails a successful product can generate over dozens of forums and message boards.

It would have been cheaper than the $250 I spent on another batch of 300 PCB's to produce your single pendant ;)
