The best treatment of the subject is Frank Moore Cross, "A New Qumran Biblical Fragment Related to the Original Hebrew Underlying the Septuagint," BASOR 132 (1953), 15-26. If you want something more up to date, see the chapter "The Biblical Texts" in John Allegro's The Dead Sea Scrolls: A Reappraisal, 19642, pages 59-83.

Subject: [lxx] Source text(s) of LXXHey all,Got a question and not exactly sure how to phrase it, but it goes something like this: Does anyone know of any research or publications regarding the Hebrew source text(s) of the LXX especially if presented with detailed observations regarding how it/they compare(s) with the Dead Sea Scrolls and the masoretic text? Also interested in information about how Dead Sea Scrolls specifically brought into question any previous thoughts or conclusions regarding LXX. Realizing that such information might be influenced by the theological biases of the presenters, I'm really only interested in the most objective treatises available. Thanks! Jon
