Exposure Leeds #3 - Portraiture Special - Weds May 6th; 6pm
- Exposure Leeds is a new development in the local social space; designed to give everyone serious about photography open, sharing and affordable access to develop their skills, expand their experience and a chance to socialise/network with others.
On the first wednesday of every month you'll find us at LeedsMet's Old Broadcasting House - with workshops/presentations followed by a social gathering at a nearby hostelry. These events (and indeed the whole of the project is aimed at improving the end image, rather than being a "techie nerdfest".
- Photographing Real People Special --
This month we've a special covering personal portraiture - shooting those people who don't necessarily like to pose...
Alan Barton works shooting editorial photography for corporates and the education sector - he's going to talk about the work he does, how he gets the most for his models and kit and is hoping you'll all be ready with lots of challenging questions.
Anne Akers is going to talk about how the colours people wear and are shot against can have a massive impact on how the sitter will appear.
This month's 'Passion' 5 minute short slot will spotlight photo creativity.
We will also be launching 'Exposure Projects' - a small sub-group aimed at helping those interested in delivering photographic projects to bring these to fruition.
Talks start at 6.30pm - the event is free - no ticket required, but please indicate interest by searching for 'Exposure Leeds' on Facebook or upcoming.org
