      Feminism and Contemporary
      Art – A Debate – All Welcome

      Thursday 27th June 7.30-9.00pm at 64 Wellington St. Leeds, LS1 2EE

      As part of “The Domestic
      Pirate”, an exhibition by Paula Chambers

      * Is feminism still relevant
      when talking about contemporary art practice?

      * Do younger women still think
      of themselves as feminists, and if so, how does this impact upon their
      practice?

      * Can feminist art practice
      exist outside of academic conventions and associated feminist theory?

      * Does there need to be a
      reassessment of what the term feminist might mean in the 21st century and how this might be represented within a visual art medium?

      An evening of discussion
      around the questions above, with the intention of opening avenues for possible
      further investigation, and as a networking opportunity for those with
      converging interests.
