Workshops, talks & events coming up this month

      Embrace Your Inner Luddite

Enjoy a workshop at Lawrence Batley Theatre (LBT) on Nov 10 with Nottingham
artist Ange Taggart from <http://www.mydadsstripclub.com/> My Dad's Strip
Club as she demonstrates 'the art of reclaiming space'. Putting
embarrassment aside, she will address the delicate subject of carnal
knowledge of Coke machines. Best known for her unauthorised interventions
and collaborations celebrating dissent, the comedy in the work runs very
close to anger, and excites all kinds of stuff in on-lookers.

This workshop is part of the UPRISING series of events at LBT to celebrate
the 200th anniversary of the Luddite uprising in West Yorkshire. The aim is
to bring together contemporary rebels, using art as an instrument to
inspire, liberate, and counteract the damaging effects of advertising and
consumer culture. After the workshops, armed with a "toolbox" of tactics and
techniques (and a few cardboard spanners), you'll be ready to implement a
      small project of your own.

To book contact LBT Box Office on 01484 430528
