Today, four LRCC members paddled Six Runs Creek,
a tributary of the Black River in Sampson County,
NC. The trip was from Taylor's Bridge (River Rd) down
to Moore's Bridge, a distance of 7.8 miles. The
water level was a good 4.1 ft at the Clear Run Gauging
Station downriver, which meant no portages or pulls. The
put in and take out are easy and presented no
problems. A raccoon was seen, along with a plethora of bird
life to include, buzzards, hawk, woodpeckers, a a
variety of song birds. The scenery was nice and several
places were available for lunch and other breaks.
Paddlers were Charles West, Don & Sandy Meece, and Jim
      Depree.
