I just rented the movie off of Netflix cause in small towns they really don't get a lot of movies. but this one was fantastic! it reminded me of another movie called, "crossroads" with Ralph Macchio. but this one was excellent. I love the music they played. Very bluesy. :)
He did a wonderful job as acting as Vernon. Clearly talented. it was worth getting.

Lucas did an excellent job as Vernon. Both characters of Wesley and
Vernon were very much like the characters written in the book.
I loved the music! Excellent DVD. You should at least rent it and
check it out. It is also worth the purchase if you like: The Blues,
Lucas Black, Great movies that don't get publicity because they simply
have a good story and aren't full of violence and sex.
