Non-Event and Oni Gallery announce the first performance in their Fall
series of concerts for 2002, with post-digital improviser and composer
Marcus Schmickler from Cologne, Germany. Schmickler, a member of the
influential A-Musik stable, has recorded and produced recordings under such
alias' as Wabi Sabi and Pluramon (Mille Plateux). He was a founding member
of Pol, is currently a member of MIMEO (a configuration of Europe's leading
electro-acoustic improvisers), and has collaborated with (among others)
Keith Rowe, Kaffe Mathews, Pita, Thomas Lehn, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Jan St.
Werner, FX Randomiz, and Thomas Brinkmann.

Active since 1993, Schmickler explores sound and sound-production
environments devoting his projects to working with the connotation of
existing genres and unwrapping them to bare essentials. His most recent
works in contemporary electronic and/or 'mechanical' music include Param and
Sator Rotas. This is Schmickler's first Boston area appearance and needless
      to say is long overdue.
