Hello to the Playing For Change Family,

Shortly after Playing For Change released the "Stand By Me" video we received an email titled "Music School in Mali." It was written by a musician named Mahamadou Diabate and he was enquiring about the possibility of creating a new music school in the village of Kirina, Mali. This is a magical place whose history is deeply  rooted in music.

A few months later the PFC crew headed to Kirina to meet with Mahamadou and the village elders. They shared with us how important it was for them to keep their traditional music and culture alive for future generations, and how building a music school in their village would enable them to do so.

After a tremendous amount of hard work by the Playing For Change Foundation and the people of the village, I can tell you that the "Ecole de Musique de Kirina" opened its doors in October of 2010. More than 300 students are now taking classes in dance, kora, balafon, djembé, talking drum, musical theory, English and French. Join us as we create a better world together! This is your family, enjoy the video.

Bonjour à toute la famille Playing For Change,

      One Love,

Hola a toda la familia Playing For Change,

      One Love,
