      Congress is about to use the 9/11 tragedy as an excuse to expand the federal death penalty!!!

      The House of Representatives, in "The 9/11 Commission Recommendations Implementation Act," is pressing for either new federal death penalty provisions -- even though the 9/11 Commission didn't recommend expanding the federal death penalty at all!

      Obviously, the death penalty isn't going to deter a suicide bomber, or a terrorist like Tim McVeigh who wants to be a martyr. And it can only hinder the crucial cooperation of other countries, many of which won't extradite suspects who might face the death penalty.

      The House bill has already been passed, but it's about to be conferenced with a Senate version that has no death penalty provisions.
