it may be that there is a difference between how you originally
subscribed and your current email address which prevents the
listserver software recognizing you as the original subscriber.
It has been remarked that sometimes this can be due to changes
made by your ISP which are transparent to you and anyway
outside your control.
I also note that Yahoo Groups can screw things up royally
in its maintenance, sometimes deleting whole groups or
omitting them from one's group memberships, so it wouldn't
surprise me if there were possible identity-drift there too.
If any of these explanations apply it really isn't very fruitful to
ask 'why' unsubscribe doesn't work - just login to web page
and select 'Edit Membership' and manage it from there.
If that doesn't work, then contact the group owner directly
The group owner/moderator is the only person with authority
to override your subscription options if you cannot change
This is probably where your previous post should have gone,
rather than to the several thousand of us on the list, since
no-one else on the list is able to give you direct help
with this problem and most of us will be totally unaware of
any list-management issues which may have caused it.
