      FYI
St. Basil's Liturgy of Holy Saturday, just so you know what you are leaving out!

      Rdr. James Morgan

      The readings:
      Genesis 1:1-13
      Isaiah 60:1-16
      Exodus 12:1-11
      Jonah (the whole thing!)
      Joshua 5:10-15
      Exodus 13:20-15:19
(crossing the red sea, with some hymnography interpolated)
      Zephaniah 3:8-15
3 Kings 17:8-24 (acc to the LXX)
      Isaiah 61:1-62:5
      Genesis 22:1-18
      Isaiah 61:1-9
IV Kings 4:8-37 One day Elisha went on to Shunem....
      Isaiah 63:11-64:5
      Jeremiah 31:31-34
Daniel 3:1-23 with the song of the three holy youths following....

I wonder if all these were not at one time common to all the 'traditions' but over time some were deleted.

We use "Showers of Blessing" a song I originally learned in Miskito.  The1st  verse is:

Here in Thy Name we are gathered,

        Come and revive us, O Lord;

“There shall be showers of blessing,”

Thou hast declared in Thy Word.

Any suggestions for a hymn or song to follow the Noah reading?

PS Anyone come across the work of an ecclesiastical artist - Howgate - who

designed our Stations of the Cross? One is photographed here:
