A group of volunteers to support and help the growth of smaller GLUGs, LUGs and FSUGs across India. (GLUGs stand for GNU/Linux User Groups, LUGs are Linux User Groups, and FSUGs are Free Software User Groups.) This network was the idea of Sukrit D., then a young student from Pondicherry (now a techie based in Bangalore), who proposed this idea during the Linux-Bangalore event of 2002 (or was it 2001?) Generally, it was felt that larger user-groups are well equipped to cope with the pressures of growth, but the smaller ones need to share resources, tips and ideas among themselves. Hence this option, to act as a meeting point among active members of varioius user-groups in India (or beyond). Please help to crosspollinate between your user-group and others, through this network. Feel free to forward the postings from this group to your user-group, if you think it might be useful. Just give credit to the original poster, that's all!
