hi there everybody! how's it going?

need some help here... i'm kinda new to linux, and i'm trying to use a Microsoft USB Optical mouse with Red Hat Linux 7.3 on an IBM Thinkpad A22e notebook.

when i plug the mouse, kudzu actually identifies it and asks me to configure the new device... i've tried generic USB, intellimouse, genius... none of them seemed to work...

when i (su) run /usr/sbin/mouseconfig after that, i can actually change to some other configuration, the file XF86Config-4 actually changes, but even if the mouse "turns"on its light, nothing happens... under Win2k, it works just fine...

be glad to hear from you guys,
      thanks in advance!
