With one sound card you have too many apps wanting it. See how this
Go into your preferences and turn off system sounds, all of them.
Close or turn off any other app that needs access to the sound card.
Open fldigi and nothing else other than your mixer control.
Do not !!!! Do not !!! open Firefox..... or any other app that
requires a sound event.
See what you get now.
