      As I understand it, fldigi lets you turn TX RSID on or off, and the
      setting applies to all modes. Also as I understand it, when enabled, the
      RSID is sent in each transmission.

      Using RSID for modes like PSK doesn't really make sense, as everyone
      recognizes the sight and sound of these modes, but it does make sense
      for other less common modes. Also, it doesn't always make sense to send
      RSID on every transmission.

      How about adding an <RSID> element to the set of macro definitions? Then
      we could define exactly when we want to send it.

      For example we could define a mode-specific CQ macro that includes RSID:
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      <MODEM>DomX11 <RSID>
      <TX>
      CQ CQ CQ de <MYCALL> ...........
      ......
      <RX>
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

        I've just downloaded the latest fldigi, and discovered that you have
        implemented my idea already! Goodness me, that was quick .... <grin>
