I have tried it both in WinMe and WinXT but it always freezes.
Is this normal if the Radio is not responding?

Do we need some special configuration for the serial port?
Does the tty mean some required logic level or is it a fully standard

The Kachina program NOW does NOT show "OFF LINE"... (even when the
radio is switched off!).
But it gives a message "Unable to command radio. Please check radio"
after starting up and everytime a request is made
Is there any diagnostic that could be made to check the basic
transceiver booting up status? Could it be completely dead?
