transmitter. Maybe use the tune function of FLdigi, leave the rig TX off
and in receive. The audio input should still be terminated.
Then see if the level shifts around all over the place. If not, you
could try using PSK31 and see if the level is really changing, as seen
on the meter or not. The test isn't exact, but at least you'd know if
the input level is changing to the rig or not.
It could be contact problems, or something in your interface, or the
sound card. At least by measuring the audio level with the VOM, you'd
know if the change was in the audio chain or the rig.
