5000e battery recall and more battery life in Linux
- I just wanted to remind anyone who didn't know or has forgotten about it,
Dell is offering the battery recall for 5000 and 5000e batteries that meet
certain conditions. You call 1-877-237-3355 and give them your info. They
send you a new battery free of charge with a prepaid box to send your old
one back. When they receive your old one they then send you a second one
for free. They don't even ask for CC #'s or anything, the whole call took
4 minutes, worth it if you haven't done it so far.
Next, I was wondering what I can do in order to save energy in Linux, I turn
my screen brightness way down (sometimes all the way down) and pull the CD
ROM but still in best case scenario get 60-70 minutes. Are there some
things I can do to save some energy i.e. services I can turn off and how?
