      Dumb question for those with beeps

      Do you have turned off the "port retester" (sorry
      don't remember the exact name but this is what it
      did)for the cardbus / PCMCIA ports?
      I know in SuSE 7.2, which I have now I only get the
      beeps ONCE and that's when it's going into it's
      initialization sequence on startup, but that's how
      SuSe has it set. However, I remember when trying (and
      failing)to get it up with version 7.1 there was a
      setting somewhere i found that caused a retry after a
      period, If you've built from scratch or rebuilt you
      may have accidentally reset this bit or worse set
      something that in turn resets this :-}

      just my 2 bits into the problem
