Hello. I recently installed a free version of Linux-Mandrake 6.0 on
Dell Latitide XPiCD M166ST I recently purchased. The installation
went rather smoothly (a couple snags at the XFree86 cfg, but X runs,
so I'm not complaining about that). It even read from the CDROM
normally during installation. Now that it's installed, whenever I
stick a CD in the drive and try to mount it, mount tells me "No
Found." It reads Audio CD's fine, and even plays them (I'm using a
trial version of OSS).
The Floppy works, and I've been using sneakernet to put Sawfish and
some backgrounds on it. I kinda wish GNOME was a little more stable
and memory efficient, but I can't get a more recent version just yet
(I'll be ordering HelixGnome as soon as I get this working!).
Does anybody know of a kernel module, patch, workaround anything
that'll get this thing reading CDROMS?
Thank you very much for your time,
