      I am not that experienced with ndiswrapper, I usually spent the time
      compiling the Linux driver, but that is now in the kernel. The Intel
      chipset only needs the firmware from http://ipw2200. sourceforge. net/
      copied to the proper folder to enable the native Linux drive to work.
      It can't be distributed with the rest of Ubuntu due to licensing.
      That is assuming it is the ipw2200, but the D600-610 used that, I
      assume it is the same.

      I no longer have a Dell laptop so I can't help much more, sorry.
