Hey all, just to let you know that I just upgraded the HDA on my
Inspiron 5000eG to 60GB, HDA1 is 30GB NTFS for M$XP and HDA2 is 30GB
Ext2 for Fedora Core 5.
Installed the Core 5 and all went well. Install correctly found and
configured everything correctly, except the video resolution. I am
using the "Dell 1600x1200 Laptop Display" that is in Xorg config but
only get the 1600x1200 resolution to display properly (other
resolutions are overlapped and "garbled")
Also, still cannot configure the volume buttons on the side to work
with either FC5 or XP, even though I installed the app that Dell has
on their site for XP (coded to the wrong buttons).
Using Ndis Wrapper, I was able to configure and use both a 3COM
3CRSHPW196 (11MB WiFi) and a Linksys WPC54G(54MB WiFi).
I have not tried the tv out yet.
If anyone has a link to a good benchmark program to test this thing
out with, I will gladly post the results.
Just thought I would let you know and see if someone has been able to
solve that resolution issue (I think the i8K may have the same
display) and the sound buttons (should be fairly easy but I am having
a brain fart).
