I do have load "glx" in the appropriate place.

      >I tested on a machine here, and you'll get that message if it isn't loaded

Not that I could see by using cat to read the file.

There was a (LONG) series of messages like this:
(II) NV(0): Not using default mode "1024x768" (bad
      mode clock/interlace/doublescan)
(II) NV(0): Not using default mode "2048x1536" (hsync
      out of range)

But, they all appeared to resolve themselves, later,
with messages that read like this:
      (--) NV(0): Virtual size is 1600x1200 (pitch 1600)
      (**) NV(0): *Default mode "1600x1200": 189.0 MHz, 87.5
      kHz, 70.0 Hz
      (II) NV(0): Modeline "1600x1200" 189.00 1600 1664
      1856 2160 1200 1201 1204 1250 +hsync +vsync

Other than that, I couldn't find any messages that
said anything negative about startup, in the
/var/log/XFree86.0.log file (which is the file I had)

Also, I still have two sets of directory paths for OpenGL, which the FAQ I
was reading indicated was not a good thing.
