Re: [linux-dell-laptops] Inspiron 4150: Problems resuming display when lid closing, fn-d, or blanking
- I had a similar problem but with Rehat 7.2 and a Dell Inspiron 5000e. I think I have it fixed now, I've been able to suspend and resume for 2-3 days (at least 3-4 times per day) now, though I haven't tried it when closing the lid. Anyway, after searching the web I found something that suggested the following changes to the /etc/sysconfig/apmd file:
and I added:
RESTORESERVICES="network named pcmcia"
I got this suggestion off of Bugzilla (Bug #65023). One caveat, I was able to narrow down my problem to the pcmcia network card before I tried this (when I removed the card suspend/resume worked).

I have a Dell inpiron 4150, running Linux Redhat 8.0, I have Power

whenever I close the lid, or the system blanks the screen after idle

key, the screen kind of "tries" to get back, but displays nothing.
I know the system is running, I can even type some commands, I tried
using ACPI and this problem goes away, but I cannot suspend or use
power saving options, so I want to know how could I make APM work,
I've read about some things to do to get the display back (going to a
console and then switching back to X so I can get the display back,
etc...) but none of them work, please help me, thanks.
