          Depends on what you want to do. Very simply, if you just use linux as a general purpose OS then go ahead and install RH8.0, on the other hand if, like me, you

            Depends on what you want to do. Very simply, if you just use linux as a
            general purpose OS then go ahead and install RH8.0, on the other hand if,
            like me, you use a lot of specialised scientific software then I would
            personally recommend sticking with RH7.3 (as companies and maintainers need
            some time to prepare release specific versions). There does seem to be a
            common perception that .0 releases are somewhat bug-ridden and a lot of
            people would always wait for a .1 release.

            Just my 2 cent, John.

            (Nice how being in the euro zone means I can say "2 cent", ah the fringe
            benefits........)
