      For 1400x1050 I using a Modeline of:
      Modeline "1400x1050" 135 1400 1400 1808 2016 1050 1050 1054 1075
      works like a charm

      I didn't use the program from Dell. With a recent enough kernel you
      should be able to use maestro-sound directly. I'm using 2.2.14. You can
      get the maestro module from http://people.redhat.com/zab/maestro/
