"Knitting Toe Up Socks on One Circ" by Janet Rehfeldt is sold out. Exclusive: Janet is teaching at only the Knit & Crochet Shows this year and next. For class descriptions, go to http://www.e-offinger.net/knitandcrochet/fallclasses.cfm

You might notice a couple of changes since earlier notices: Due to a conflict, Beth Walker O'Brien's classes will be taught by Sarah Peasley. Gwen Bortner's class is F106K, not F106C - it's a knitting class. Tosca Mark is unable to teach and Nancy Wiseman is doing a continental knitting class that same day with Tosca's old class number.
First come, first get! Early birds will find shopping bags inside the show entrance from Southwest Trading and from Spinrite. Goody bags from Coats & Clark go to the first 500 who pre-register and take at least one class.

      • Fashion Show entries - check the box on your registration form so we know to send entry form - or e-mail KnitandCrochetShow@.... Thank you to fashion show sponsor Westminster Fibers.
      • Helping Handbags Silent Auction Donations - Designers, send in your entry forms.
      • Precious Pals - Oakland is last chance to contribute Pals for TKGA to send to help our soldiers comfort war-torn little ones in the Middle East. Bring them to the show and put them on the Precious Pals display table on the show floor.
      • Member Meeting/Anniversary Celebration - Plan to come to the TKGA Member Meeting on Friday evening after the Show floor closes (meeting is sponsored by Caron International). The guild anniversary celebration is only part of the fun! We'll have door prizes, too!
      • Master Knitter Pinning - at the Saturday dinner.
      • 24/7 Lounge - will be open during the Show - thanks to Tahki Stacy Charles!
      • Lion Brand - is sponsoring the Market Preview (open to anyone who pre-registered for classes).
      • Bring Someone - a friend or a family member - who wants to learn to knit! Coats & Clark provides complimentary starter kits when they attend the free (with a paid ticket to the Show) 45-minute Teach Me 2 Crochet/KnitĀ™ sessions.
Please notify TKGA@... if you will be bringing a 10th (or more!) Anniversary guild poster for display at Oakland - be sure to include in the e-mail the name of your guild. We want to make sure we have enough space reserved for everyone to be included.

_____ YES, our guild is bringing an anniversary poster.

      Guild Name: __________________________________________________________________.

Let your poster tell your guild story as part of the Guild Wall of Fame to be set up on the show floor for everyone to see!   Please limit your poster size to 24" x 28" or less - foamcore is recommended to keep down the weight and give stability. Please put lots of Velcro (the hooked part) on the back so it can easily be hung on the display drape. Make sure your guild name is prominent on the poster.

When you pre-register for the Fall Knit & Crochet Show in Oakland, BE SURE TO check the box (under section 1) to let us know if you are a member of a TKGA 10th (or more!) Anniversary Guild ( i.e., any guild that has been affiliated with TKGA for 10 years or more), and give us the name of the guild. That way we can be prepared for you!

You and your guild will be VIPs. Because you are special, you will:

~  Be given a "Guild Anniversary" Ribbon with your name badge

~ Your guild will be listed in the Show Directory as being present for recognition

~ Have your guild poster on display throughout the Show (see more below)

~ Be recognized at the Friday evening TKGA Member Meeting with a certificate for your guild

         and some anniversary cake!

~ Be part of the special guild anniversary photo session at the Member Meeting

~ Be asked to stand at the TKGA Saturday evening dinner. If your guild happens to have

a guild outfit (i.e., if everyone has the same sweater or vest, etc.), you will have a

chance to show them off during the Fashion Show!

~ Be part of the door prize drawings and giveaways at the Friday member meeting and Saturday evening dinner.

Volunteers help to make the Conferences go more smoothly - plus volunteering can be fun! Here are some ways you can help:

      1.  Be A TKGA Booth Greeter for half an hour - With you in the booth, staff can take a quick break. You'll have an opportunity to smile, hand out literature and take down names and contact information if someone wants to be added to our mailing list.

      2.  Be a Time Trials Judge - Spend 45 minutes as a knitting and/or crochet judge during the lunch period (12:45 - 1:30) Friday, Saturday or Sunday. We'll explain the rules and how to run the timer. Two judges are required during each time period, so we need to confirm ahead of time that you can be available on the day we need you. You can bring your lunch to the Time Trials Table to munch while you judge.

      3.  Be a Saturday Evening Chic Street Fashion Show Helper -

           - Be a model! You'll get the chance to wear some beautiful knit and crochet wear.

           - Help behind the curtain - help with quick change of garments and lining up the models for their

             next parade in the spotlight.

      4.  Spread the Word! - Pass out discount coupons and posters to everyone in your area so they will know to come to the Conference and Knit & Crochet Show! We'll provide as many coupons and posters as you need.

Send an e-mail with the following volunteer details to KnitandCrochetShow@... .

Staff will follow up with you.
      Provide your:

      Name _____________________________________________________________________

      E-mail _____________________________________________________________________

      Guild Name (if you belong)_____________________________________________________

Which activity you're interested in volunteering for:

      __ TKGA Booth Helper

__ Fashion Show Back Stage Helper
__ Send me ______ (qty) posters and _____ (qty) coupons to pass out locally.
