By End of March - Online Details about Knit & Crochet Shows!

Details will appear in late March at www.KnitAndCrochetShow.com

Descriptions of the classes available in Manchester are online now! TKGA WILL MAIL KNIT & CROCHET SHOW REGISTRATION BROCHURES TO YOUR GUILD TO SHARE AT YOUR GUILD MEETING. Let us know (
TKGA@...) how many brochures you need for your meeting (limited availability). Online registration and brochures will be available in March.

Guilds: Merge the Fun of Ballgames and Knitting with Stitch N' Pitch ™!

Never again leave your knitting at home while you sit in the stands to cheer on your favorite ball team. With Stitch N' Pitch you can do both and be among fellow knitters, to boot!

Is the game exciting? You'll knit faster. Is the game slow? You're not missing a thing, while accomplishing more on your knitting project.

Stitch N' Pitch is all about congregating with other knitters in a section of the stands. The ball teams sell tickets on certain days for Stitch N' Pitch sections. Needle art surprises and freebies come with the tickets, thanks to The National NeedleArts Association and local retailers. And there is always fun!

Stitch N' Pitch is in high gear, having gotten its start last year as part of The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA). TNNA has worked hard behind the scenes to set up Stitch N' Pitch arrangements with 23 national teams and local retailers and guilds. Visit the Stitch N' Pitch Web site - www.StitchNPitch.com -for a list of teams that offer Stitch N' Pitch dates and tickets (Arizona, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Colorado, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Minnesota, New York , Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Saint Louis, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Texas, Toronto, Washington, etc.) Then go directly to the listed team (do a Web search or pick up the phone) and tell them you want to buy Stitch N' Pitch tickets for their Stitch N' Pitch game date. It's that simple! Buy as a group or individually. Plan a bus trip! Add the Stitch N' Pitch calendar to your guild newsletter.

While you're on the Stitch N' Pitch Web site, be sure to click on the photo gallery, and especially on the link to "what the media has been saying."   It will give you a good idea of how the event works. You can tell local press to come and cover your guild at Stitch N' Pitch! Stitch N' Pitch is the perfect opportunity for your local guild to make knitting in public look like so much fun that others will want to learn how and will want to join your guild.

On the Stitch N' Pitch Web site, you can sign up to receive a Stitch N' Pitch Fan newsletter.

For additional involvement, contact info@.... For example, through this e-mail TNNA can help you find out how to connect with local retailers who will be at the game at Stitch N' Pitch teaching tables. Ask the retailer if your guild members can help teach and hand out guild brochures. This can give your guild a high profile among both new and experienced knitters.

In short, Stitch N' Pitch is a ball!  Start now to promote it to your guild members, get your tickets and get involved!

      KNITTING IN THE NEWS:

Thanks to National Trail Knitters Guild Newsletter (OH), February 2007:

~ Click & Clack mentioned knitting in their newspaper column, January 14. The column dealt with knitting and what happens to the needles when the airbags are deployed.

~ On the cartoon Qube the beaver character gives needles and yarn to the dragon, who begins knitting for all of his friends.

~ In one of its 99 cents promotions, Burger King has two burgers talking and a lady beside them knitting on the couch.
