Group Description

This list is for discussion of lexicography. Anyone with a serious interest in lexicography or dictionary making is welcome to join the list and participate in the email discussions. Especially welcome are native speakers of languages who are involved in research of their own lexicon.

All aspects of lexicography are welcome for discussion on this list, including lexical relations, computer software for lexicography, discovery procedures, aboriginal intellectual property rights, dictionary-making issues, and book announcements.

List members are welcome to post articles in the Files section of our list website. Members may also vote in any polls currently being conducted.

To access some sections (left margin) of this list website, Yahoo requires that you have a Yahoo Profile. If you have Internet access, your Profile can be made at the time when you subscribe to the list. You can keep your Profile as anonymous as you wish, for security or personal reasons. You will be able to receive messages from this list as well as post messages even if you do not have a Yahoo Profile.

List messages are mirrored on the Linguist List website.

Professional courtesy is expected in list messages. Personal attacks are not permitted.

Please end each posted message with a signature that includes your complete name and, if you have one, your institutional or project affiliation.

Members are welcome to post messages in their mother tongue, if they wish, but should ask someone to provide a translation to English to accompany their post.
