      Dear LCS Member

There are several Lewis Carroll related events coming up - two
theatre productions, a family fun day and others.

In particular, the LCS is pleased to announce that author Angelica
Carpenter will be giving a talk to the Society on 11 March in which
she will compare Baum's land of Oz with Carroll's Wonderland. We hope
that Angelica will also take the opportunity to report to us on her
various Carroll-related projects. And ... following his successful
RLG memorial lecture, last year, Colin Ford will return to answer
questions on some of the points that members of the audiences
      requested to discuss further.

This and other events are all listed on the LCS website.

The "Writer In The Garden" exhibition at the British Library has
several Carroll references and is worth a visit. The associated
lecture (discussing Frances Hodgson Burnett) on 23 February (6.30pm)
is being given by Professor Gretchen Gerzina. Nothing to do with
Lewis Carroll, as far as we know, but LCS members Michael O'Connor
and Angelica and Richard Carpenter will be there; so if any other LCS
members want to join them, they would be pleased to meet up. The
lecture costs £6, and tickets can be ordered on 020 7412 7222.

This week's Time Out (just about to go out of date - so you might
have to look in the paper bank to get a copy!) contains a collection
of articles about books, writing, collecting, etc. (and a quote from
      Charlie Lovett!)

Thanks to Sol Saul, Michael O'Connor, Fred Ost and other who sent us
      this information. Keep it coming.

      Best wishes
      Mark Richards (LCS Chairman)
