      1-1 Hartley

This drill can run on both sides at the same time.

      1. Forwards start either on the goal line or hash marks, depending on skill/age level.
      2. The defencemen start at the top of the circle.
      3. On the whistle, the forwards take off and try to beat the defencemen wide.
      4. The defencemen have to skate backwards to at least the red line and try to angle the attacking forward into the corner.
      5. Make sure to switch sides and to give everyone an opportunity as forward and defensemen.

Drill provided by Peter Ambroziak, Head of Hockey Development for the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs at the Bell Sensplex. Contact the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs at 613-599-0222 or by e-mail at senshockeyprograms@... to find out how you can improve your game or the game of your child.
