      2011 NHL Entry Draft

      With two first round picks in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers chose Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels first overall and took Swedish defenceman, Oscar Klefbom as their second first round selection.

      Oilers re-acquire Ryan Smyth

      General Manager Steve Tambellini announced June 26 the Edmonton Oilers have acquired left-winger Ryan Smyth from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for centre Colin Fraser and a 7th round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Smyth is "thrilled to be back".

      Oilers agree to terms with Smid

      General Manager Steve Tambellini announced June 30 the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with defenceman Ladislav Smid on a two-year deal.
