i think the problem with the Lectra was when it came out. who cared
about an electric scooter in the early 90's? the gas was cheap, & cars
& regular motorcycles were priced within most people's reach. the fact
they only sold around 100 units proves my point. nowadays i could
understand why people would want to buy one with gas in the $4.00 to
$5.00 range. it's crazy. do you really think they would sell 100
bikes now? it probably wound triple easily & would keep on doing so if
they keep making it. i'm really surprised that nobody hasn't jumped on
this future hot market yet. when ya come down to it there really is no
useable electric cycle out there at least that i know of that is. most
are those little scooters for kids. i see some slightly larger
electric scooters in catalogs with useless range & top speed. mostly
just large toys. the ego cycle is a joke, ya might as well just ride a
10-speed. i can picture a new upgraded Lectra prowling our streets
today. it would have a new Lithium Ion battery pack which would triple
the range of lead acid. larger wheels & tires, shaft drive & new,
slick led lighting for energy efficiency. maybe a larger motor for a
higher top speed making it freeeway useable. i think there's more
technology available now for this new Lectra than back in the 90's.
      ahh dreams.....
