Dear Janet, Pamela and Collaborators
First some introductions
- Janet Feldman http://www.dadamac.net/network/janet-feldman
- Pamela Llewellyn http://www.dadamac.net/network/pamela-llewellyn
- Collaborators Connect http://www.dadamac.net/initiatives/cross-cultural-collaboration/collaborators-connect
Janet - it was the mention of Malaria in you email below that made me think of Pamela L.
Pamela L - Janet's mention of malaria reminded me of the emails that you and Nikki have been exchanging with their mention of "the malaris songs" and your interest in the disease.
I wonder if we should consider starting a little Special Interest Group on the topic of Malaria. We could start to discuss teh idea here, and if there is sufficient interest we might set it up as an initiative over on Dadamac.net. Then we could easily gather together all the relevant information that we were collecting to make it available to others. What do people think? Please let me know if you might be interested.
Janet thank you for sending your email and reminding us of Maria on this day that would have been her birthday.

This is a very sad day, yet also a celebratory one...this is Maria Agnese's birthday. I received a "reminder" from Facebook, where she still has a page, and hopefully many of us will post here, there, and elsewhere in her honor and memory.
Today is also World Malaria Day, a poignant and wholly-fitting (if "eerie") conjunction, as I gather Maria Agnese passed away from malaria-related complications.
Malaria is one of the worst scourges and killers around the planet, so let's all take time if we can to educate and be active around this topic. Perhaps we can have a discussion in our forums and at Dadamac about that, especially in terms of being helpful in some kind of project or way.
With love to our dear friend, and to all, and blessings always, Janet
